    Friday, December 26, 2008

Hey yall...i had a good Christmas yesterday...spent time with my grandparents...had some good food lol...but it was good

Today not so good...its my mothers 38th birthday...but she's just not here with us to celebrate...she passed this may 25th from cancer...a day following the 2 yr anniversary of my baby brothers death...so im hoping to get out today and get my mind off things...but if not then ill be fine, just keep me in your prayers...

My mother will always be the root of inspiration for what i do fashion-wise...in her last days she would tell ppl that visited her all about me...then she would talk about my clothes that i make, and say that i'd be a great fashion designer...im going to live up to that...im going to be one of the best artists to walk this planet...im not going to disappoint her...

Her and my baby bro were the life of me...living without them is tougher than i show...its hard to not miss them...hard not to feel the hurt...but still i stand...

    ...I'm Still Here

Salutations fellow dissimilars and those too similar...lol

Yo, had a nice lil blessing get tossed my way today, got me a job as an artist for an up and coming clothing line called the Word...ya digg...cool dude the owner is, its nice to do artwork for two companies who base their work off of all things Holy...

Uhhh...other than that, it was a good day, school was smooth, practice was great, and Trae just had a good day...

But what do i wanna talk about today???
    ...
    ...
    ...
    Got it

The effect music has on the youth...
    Ooooohh lol

So a while ago i asked myself why does music have such a firm, constrictive hold on the youth today...valid question right?...thought so...
Anyway i look at it like this...check this out...when you go out on a daily basis, you are destined to hear any hip-hop and r&b...guaranteed...then you say "so what"...well thats just it...take a newborn child, growing and learnig throughout their youth, theyre gonna be exposed to the music that we hear today...then you say "so what"..."its just music"...yeah it is...but its the message...the concept of the music...you got guys out here callin themselves "goons" and females being called "bust it baby" (which in my opinion...is the most stupid name to be called...bust it baby...?!)...every catchy tune that becomes popular is instantaneously placed into the vernacular of our children...example...more recently "swagga" from "Swagga Like Us", go back to "Umma Do Me", "hatin" from every song there is lol, of course theres "bust it baby", "goon"...my point?...simply that the music we listen to is so influential to the point that we pick up on it unknowingly sometimes...and while people my age, 18-21 are somewhat mature enough to filter the negative and positive parts of the music and not be affected, those younger are not so fortunate to have the mental capacity to do such...they become victims...hypnotized by the subliminal messages of sex, dope slangin, murder, *cough*homosexuality*cough*, promiscuity...the list goes on...they grow with that message in their minds and as they continue to hear it, the message too grows...creating a generation of zombies...driven by the music that is their supreme order...deep isnt it?...i know...but hey, you may be like me, listen to all the hip-hop and r&b you want and ever so slightly be affected...if youre that person, GOD bless you, for you have a superior mind...smooth...this doesnt apply to you...unless youre in denial...

God Bless and Gods Label Up,

    Hit 'em wit that wham

    Monday, December 8, 2008

Yoooo...what up what up what up...
    First off...Taco Bell and basketball practice...don't mix...lol

But other than my meeting with constipation, i had a pretty good day...school was smooth, and practice was...practice lol...still cant wait 'til my church Youth Conference at First Baptist World Changers on the 18th-20th...that's a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday...Thurs and Fri at 6:30pm, and Saturday at 3pm...

    But uhhhh...yeah...guess ill preach...

So the question keeps getting thrown around my church "why are teens more attracted to the things of the world, rather than the church?"

    Good question...

    Well my answer simply states:

The Bible says we are "born INTO SIN" so off rip we're at a disadvantage...now...you could either be the child of a church going family, or a non-church going fam...

    Here is how it is

Now, those who are the child of church families are raised in the church and fed the Word on a consistent basis...cool...so, as this child becomes older and matures, then hits the ever so life determining teen years...still in the church, but comes into contact with so many worldly people makes it hard to maintain that faith walk...the peer pressure comes so strong and frequent that its almost impossible to say no...it takes a different, dissimilar, faithful person to have the guts to tell the world no, and become the outcast, the one who stays home to read their bible while all the others are at the parties, clubs and whatnot...the temptation of drugs, sex, and life in the fast lane...the music...oh the music...the music nowadays is full of sex, dope dealin', small hints of homosexuality and transexuality...most in this situation succumb to the pressure...submit in shame...only very few survive with Christ...its just so hard for 'em...the standard of the great huge world versus the small tiny church...you're drowned with it for the 5-6 days you don't go to church...so much to the point that you're numb to the message...numb to the gospel...numb to Christ...you become one of them...the worldly...only few come back to the church and repent...many don't...

    Now...the flip side...

Ok now growing up in the world and finding Christ is just as difficult...you simply have those who stay fixated in the world...which is the norm...but as I've experienced myself, the trials and tribulations could cause people to find Christ...but some people like myself...have to be hit a lil bit harder and be knocked down, forced to look up and reach up to GOD...the teens that are like this today really don't come out of that trap...predominantly only those who reach more mature years...those who've slowed down in life and had time to reflect...repent and come to Christ...but not many...

This is why the Kingdom of GOD is struggling to grab the attention of the young...the world has been given too much power...television...radio...fashion...all of which have profound effects on the mind of a child, teen and young adult...

We need the dissimilar...those who will fight the ways of the world...will it be you?

    Think...

    Hustlin'

What’s good yall, I had a wild day today, but nonetheless its all good.

But hey GOD takes us through things for a reason, and he never gives us a load too heavy to bear…

But my bro Flac put me on game and gave me some huge marketing tips that I plan on utilizing this weekend. I came up with a couple more designs that I will release as soon as The Breaker Collection sells out…so far the sales are slower than a turtle with no feet…yeah I know…everyone on Facebook isn’t up on GODSLABEL.COM…so, part of my marketing campaign will include fliers saying “Have YOU been to GODS LABEL DOT COM?!”…good?...well its going along pretty well in my school…but anyway I’m really looking forward to gaining exposure on the fashion scene…

Well that’s pretty much it today…imma start giving a thought of the day at the end of my entries…

    Obedience…

    Allow me to introduce myself...

    Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Ladies gentlemen, boys girls, dissimilar and similar alike&get it&lol

Im Trae, 18 years old reigning from Detroit Michigan.
I started this blog for the need of personal exposure, see, I'm an artist&graphic artist, architect, web designer etcetera&and I am an artist for GODS LABEL, a clothing line founded by my older brother and one of my role models Flaco Shalom. GODS LABEL is a clothing line with the intent to reach out to those who dare and wish to be dissimilar&those who&choose to wear 501 Levis other than oversized Girbaud jeans, the large screen tee as opposed to the 4X looks-like-an-evening-gown tall tee&we want them, and along with them, those who wish to cross the boundary into individuality...my bad...too deep...sorry...lol

Anyway, I'm here to raise awareness for the clothing line that is destined to sweep the nation. We break away form the skull and cross bone bad guy look, and create for you pieces of art that hold not only biblical meaning, but personal as well

So check this out, on the website http://WWW.GODSLABEL.COM I've released my first collection, The Breaker collection&its a package of tees that depict the stages of facing sin, confronting it, and finally defeating it and being triumphant&but the artwork is what brings it to life, the message that it represents is powerful and positive as well as uplifting.

So far so good, I'm raising awareness on my Facebook page (search Trae Isaac) and more recently this blog you read now, so, Im not gonna hold you long, check out the site, cop a tee or two, tell a friend and be blessed.

God Bless and Gods Label Up,
    Trae&
